This is a translation of the original Spanish essay published on 7 February 2024. Its claims, examples and forecasts retain that historical context.

On 23 January, Institución Educativa ALEPH took a step forward in immersive education by training senior figures from an electoral institution in Central America. Our challenge was to develop a three-day seminar that would simulate, as realistically as possible, the situations the electoral authority would face during the campaign, election operations, vote counting and the announcement of results.

To achieve this, the ALEPH team faced the considerable challenge of creating a realistic scenario that would give members of the institution a truly immersive experience. The aim was to develop soft skills, such as communication, leadership and teamwork, that are essential for addressing the challenges of the current electoral process.

For the first time, we decided to incorporate artificial intelligence tools into the construction of the scenario and the events that would shape these officials’ simulated world. AI helped us replicate the political, social and economic conditions of the country concerned, changing place names and candidates’ names to avoid sensitivities and focus on improving skills without ideological influences.

AI was also fundamental to refining exercises based on common problems in electoral processes. Its feedback was invaluable, contributing numerous useful scenarios and exercises. During the workshop, we used AI to generate television news programmes, creating as many as five high-quality news flashes in less than three hours. Each bulletin included a script, presentation, images and editing, all produced with AI under our instructions.

*Translation of the simulated bulletin’s caption: “On an election day that has kept the entire nation on tenterhooks, we are approaching the end of this democratic process.” The image is marked “VIDEO MADE WITH PICTORY.AI”. This is training material, not a report of a real election.*

**If you are about to start using AI tools in training, I would like to share a few recommendations**:

1. **Be detailed in your requests.** Be precise about what you need in order to obtain specific, useful results. Invest time in making your inputs as specific as possible.

2. **Demand more from AI.** Do not settle for the first version: ask it to improve its initial proposal, or simply to redo everything it has presented. AI’s own feedback allows you to adjust the instructions and improve the result.

3. **Connect tools.** Explore how different AI tools, both free and paid, can work together.

4. **The educator must provide the depth.** AI can provide the form, but substance and deep understanding must come from the educator. Do not ask AI to resolve the substance.

5. **Be flexible and creative.** Be open and bold in imagining new challenges. AI can be a powerful ally on this journey. You can even ask it to help you imagine new exercises.

In these brief lines, I wanted to summarise my first experience of using this technology to enhance our work. AI will undoubtedly become a fundamental component in developing high-level training programmes at our institution. Its ability to simulate realistic scenarios, generate interactive content and adapt to users’ specific needs makes it an indispensable tool in modern education.

*Translation of the simulated statement’s caption: “All this points to a truth we cannot ignore: our country is falling victim to large-scale electoral fraud.” This allegation belongs to the training scenario described in the article, not to reporting about a real election.*

With AI as an ally, we are preparing tomorrow’s leaders and professionals with the skills and experience they need to meet the challenges of a constantly changing world.

Let me share a little secret: even the article you are reading was written with the help of artificial intelligence. This experience reinforces the idea that AI is a powerful, versatile tool for education. So, welcome, AI, to our educational environments!
